Q: What in your view makes cruising stand out from other vacation options?
It’s certainly a very unique experience for many travelers when they go on a cruise, starting from the very moment one sails out. Nothing beats the thrill of leaving land behind, enjoying the freedom and getting inspired to partake in all kinds of interesting activities on a cruise ship that one probably has not experienced on land.
Whether you are visiting a destination for the first time or you’ve been there many times before, cruising will always give you a special excitement as the ship arrives at the port, and a chance to discover or rediscover the city in a different way. Cruising is very convenient and hassle-free as you visit multiple destinations on a single trip, and yet you’ll only need to unpack once. On top of it, cruising offers great destinations, meals, accommodation, amenities and activities in a single package, which is great value for money.
Q: How does Royal Caribbean respond to Singaporeans’ constantly-growing appetite for unique travel experiences?
Nowadays, Singaporeans are well-travelled and they are beginning to look for new travel experiences which depart from the conventional, such as land-based package tours. Royal Caribbean International, known for its innovative ships and rejuvenating cruise vacations, keeps redefining the cruise experience by introducing ‘first-ever’ signature features. Hence it fulfils their desire for novelty and appeals to their sense of adventure with its exciting amenities and activities - imagine climbing 9-meter rock-walls, playing mini-golf, ice-skating or even surfing on a ship! What’s more, our ships bring them to worldwide destinations, from Asia to Australia, Europe, Alaska, Caribbean and South America, and the newest in Dubai. What more exciting way to see the world than on a cruise?
Q: What kind of Royal Caribbean cruises do you usually recommend for Singaporeans?
For those taking a short break, the 3- to 5-night Southeast Asian cruises from Singapore to Port Klang, Penang, Langkawi and Phuket would be the perfect choice, They can also choose the 5- to 7-night cruises from Hong Kong, Shanghai or Tianjin to interesting destinations in Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, Japan and Russia. Onboard our ship Legend of the Seas, Singaporeans will get to experience Asia in a whole new way.
For cruisers looking for destinations in other parts of the world, I recommend the 7- to 14-night Mediterranean cruises to explore in depth the popular destinations such as Barcelona, Nice and Venice on our Voyager Class ships, and the 7-night Alaskan cruises to enjoy breathtaking sceneries on our Radiance Class ships.
Q: What is your favourite thing to do onboard Legend of the Seas?
I love waking up to a different view everyday and it's a great way to relax while enjoying the endless stretch of breathtaking sea views!
