About Royal Caribbean Cruise

Fun Farm Visits for Family Service Centre Children

In collaboration with Daybreak Family Service Centre, Royal Caribbean's APAC office sponsored a school holiday outing for 36 children aged between six and twelve, from low-income families. They visited a local goat farm and fish farm in Lim Chu Kang on 20 June 2009.

The children had a fun-filled and eye-opening morning, as it was the first time they visited such farms. The first stop was Hay Dairies Goat Farm, where the children learned about the nutritional value and benefits of drinking goat milk. They also watched a live session of goat milking, and had a taste of chilled fresh goat milk to cool down from the hot weather.

Next, we visited Hausmann Aquarium near Hay Dairies, where the children enjoyed catching and releasing tiny fishes, fed the Koi, saw tortoises and viewed various tropical fish exhibits, with some fish as large as 1 meter long.

As a souvenir, each child also received a
Royal Caribbean goodie bag containing an inflatable ship, toy bear and pen. To end off their exciting day, they were treated to lunch at McDonald's.

Jennifer Yap, General Manager, Singapore, said "As a family-oriented cruise brand, every year
our staff are engaged in meaningful activities that reach out and contribute to the community, especially children and families. We are very happy to be able to organise this event that is both fun and educational for the children, and can nurture their interest in animals and nature."
