Day 1: Boarding Legend of the Seas!

Legend of the Seas was open for boarding from morning, where guests could check in to begin enjoying the ship’s facilities.

Boarding the ship in the evening, we checked into our Ocean View Stateroom and were immediately drawn to the soft fluffy bed with high-quality cotton sheets.

The Ocean View Stateroom has the most wonderful view overlooking the sea. What a treat it was to wake up to this view every day.

Once all guests had boarded the ship, we had to take part in a safety drill that educated us on where to find our life jackets and where to assemble in the event of an emergency. The safety drill was swift and efficient, and after that, we returned to our rooms to relax.

As the amber rays of the evening sun bathed the top deck of the ship aglow, we ventured outside to the top deck, where many guests were admiring the sunset.

We enjoyed a buffet style dinner at the Windjammer Café, located right next to the outdoor pool on level 9 of the ship. There was a sumptuous feast with all types of food from Asian to Western cuisine, desserts, beverages… We were spoilt for choice!

Our favourite section of the Windjammer Café is naturally the desserts area!

To fulfill your sugary desires, dig into light and creamy cheesecake…

If you have more of a taste for greens, not to worry! At both the Windjammer Café and the Romeo and Juliet Restaurant, you get a wide selection of salads and vegetarian food at all times of the day.

Everyone was so friendly, including the chefs – who gladly posed for a photo with us!

Back in our rooms, we found the Cruise Compass, a daily newsletter listing the activities for the following day. If the ship is to dock the next day, there will be a section titled “Port Explorer”, a handy information sheet that provides important details such as a map, local customs of the destination, shopping facilities and even simple words and phrases to use! As first-time cruisers, we definitely made use of the Cruise Compass and made sure to check off on the activities as we did them.
