Day 4 till 6: Relaxing in luxury on the ship!

After visiting two countries in two days, it was time to recuperate and enjoy the full cruise experience.

Legend of the Seas provides all kinds of activities for everyone, so there will never be a dull moment. As a cruise guest, you can always look forward to something going on at any time of the day.

Take your pick from:

Free dance classes

Everyday after lunch, the cruise director, Bobby, provided basic dance classes such as salsa and cha-cha.

Free classes at the gym

The gym also offers free classes stretching and circuit training among many others, so you can get your body in shape to show off at the poolside! Fitness buffs will also enjoy the wondrous view of the sea as they work out – this almost makes it less tiring!

Exploring the top deck

Head out for a brisk walk or jog around the running track located on the top deck. Feel the sun and breeze as you tone up those muscles!

Or simply lounge on a deck chair enjoying the sun’s rays.

Splish splash!

There is both an outdoor and indoor pool on board Legend of the Seas, with Jacuzzis located next to the poolside.

Guests relax beside the outdoor pool to enjoy the fine and sunny weather.

With our new found friends, Zac and Shweta, having fun in the outdoor whirlpool in the evening.

Guests can head to the indoor pool too when it gets too windy outside for a dip in the outdoor pool.

Famished from all that swimming? The pizza and burger bar provides quick snacks whenever you need them.

Poolside activities

Other than lounging by the outdoor poolside for a tan, more fun activities such as games and contests to entertain all cruise guests.

The men vs the ladies in a T-shirt swapping contest: Who do you think won?

There was a “Mr Sexy Legs” contest where male guests were invited to show off their tanned limbs to a row of excited women.

Our friend Simon won Mr Macho Legs in the end. Way to go!

There were also other contests for the whole family to take part in, such as the ring toss.

How about some horse racing – The only difference being cruise guests must pretend to be the horses instead!

Chill out with an icy drink by the poolside when the sun gets too hot.

The bartender who talked and joked with us while we chilled out by the poolside.

Borrow some books from the library

The library is open 24 hours a day so you can browse through books and access Wi-fi, to stay connected no matter where you are.

Painting classes

Want some quiet and contemplative time to yourself? Indulge in some artistic flair by taking painting classes.

Videogames for the family

Adventure Ocean is a centre equipped with several specially-trained youth facilitators to look after your children. There are games, classes, story-telling and reading sessions to keep the younger ones entertained while parents take time off to enjoy themselves. There is even a Wii set for the whole family to play together.

Optix Teen Lounge

This cool spot gives teenagers a place to hang out – There are foosball tables, game machines, an assortment of magazines and even a dancefloor with DJs spinning live!

Rock Climbing

Legend of the Seas boasts a rock wall on its top deck, where cruise guests need to strap themselves onto the harnesses and climb all the way to the top under the watchful eye of the rock climbing instructor.

Jia Ling loved the rock wall and visited it as often as she could. She even managed to conquer the most difficult section of the wall, reaching the top successfully!

If that’s going to be too much effort (it’s a holiday, after all!), just get back to the deck chairs and enjoy the breeze and magnificent view.

Mini golf

Right next to the rock wall is a mini golf area, where you can practice your golfing skills with the sea breeze ruffling through your hair.

Shopping

Shop till you drop with the duty-free products including accessories, clothes, liquor and more at Centrum, a shopping atrium.

Look out for daily deals at the Centrum: We scored these lovely purses for USD$10 each.

Themed dance nights

Dress up for dinner and participate in the nightly post-dinner fun. Look forward to styling yourself in retro chic gear for Rock and Roll 50’s night, or be an Indian princess or prince on Bollywood night!

One of the most memorable nights was the Bollywood dance night.

On one night, our new friends Shweta, Ruchi and Anandita helped us tie our saris before we headed out to party!

At the Viking Crown Lounge, Shweta won the Best Bollywood Dancer and Joyce won Best Dressed Bollywood person. We each received a bottle of champagne. What a great way to remember the cruise experience!

There’s no better way to celebrate than by popping the bubbly with a bunch of new friends!

Daily performances at the theatre

To keep guests entertained, there are daily performances at the That’s Entertainment Theatre. From Broadway to jazz, there were exciting preludes to our evenings every night.

Making friends with cruise guests and cruise staff

The best part of being on a cruise is making new friends with people of all nationalities. We were amazed by the hospitability of families we met on board the ship, like the Merchant family: Almost like a real family portrait!

We even had a singing duo serenade us over dinner, thanks to our servers Dindo and Hongtang, who made a special request for our table.

We also made friends with Li Qing, a photographer on board the ship. Here, it was our turn to take pictures of her instead.

Jia Ling savouring the morning breeze on the ship’s deck with the Katila family, who extended great hospitability and kindness to us during our stay on the ship.
