Hello, Mumbai! A family we met on the cruise, the Merchants, helped us arrange for a cab driver cum tour guide to take us around Mumbai.
Here’s Joyce posing at the Yellow Gate after the ship docked at the port.
We travelled around Mumbai with Juan and Carol, a young couple from Guatemala who were our daily dinner companions at the Romeo and Juliet Restaurant.
Standing in front of the Taj Mahal Hotel in all its architectural splendor.
We also visited Dadra, a district with lots of saris and furniture stores.
Linking Road is a paradise of clothes, shoes and costume jewellery, bustling with locals haggling over prices with stall owners.
After all the shopping, we went to Bhalaji, a restaurant opposite the domestic airport for dinner. With some extra time to kill, we drove down to Bandra and visited a sweet shop where we purchased lots of Indian confectionery.
Different colours, but all equally yummy.
Lots and lots of sweet treats.
The shopkeeper kindly offered us samples to try.
Tired but happy, it was time to head to the airport to catch our flight back to Singapore. Goodbye Mumbai! We hope to visit you on a cruise again!
Legend of the Seas was truly a legend in terms of service. It provided the best overall cruise experience. The Royal Caribbean service staff were always friendly, professional and well-versed in their knowledge whenever we had any queries.
More than just a cruise, it was the people that made the deepest impression on us. From the impeccable service staff, to the new friends we made from all over the world and meeting families on holiday who took such good care of us while we were on board the ship.
As first-time cruisers, we were duly impressed and will definitely recommend the cruise to aspiring holidaymakers for the most memorable holiday ever.
Are you ready for your own cruise experience? Time to pack your bags and mark your dates down on the calendar!
