Visit one of Grenada's extinct volcanoes in the Grand Etang Forest Reserve and Lake. The lake is actually a natural water-filled crater and the surrounding vegetation is simply amazing, filled with tropical birds and rare flowers.

Sporting Adventures
Snorkeling and scuba diving in Grenada are some of the best in the Caribbean. The west coast of the island has an offshore reef with a 600-foot shipwreck from 1961.

Among the best bargains on the island are the exotic spices, local textiles and handicrafts. To find the center of activity, head to the Market Square. You can also find good buys along Young Street and the Carenage, the inner harbor.
Local Flavours
Native Grenadian dishes are typically made with local produce - fresh seafood and, of course, spices. For a traditional Grenadian dish, try calloloo soup, which sounds more unusual than it really is - a mixture of fresh seafood.
Currency
The official currency is the Eastern Caribbean dollar (XCD). U.S. dollars, credit cards and traveler's checks are widely accepted.
