Mina Sulman, Bahrain
Mina Sulman is one of the major ports in the Middle East, and home to the Royal Bahrain Naval Base. It is located in the Northeastern tip of Bahrain, just south of the capital city of Manama, the country's thriving economic center. Bahrain is a thoroughly modern and culturally diverse country, with just under 1/3 of its population hailing from abroad. It is also expected to be the future home of the world's tallest building-the 1,022-meter-tall Murjan Tower.
Sporting Adventures
Not surprisingly, the island kingdom of Bahrain offers a range of water sports and activities. Bring your entire family out on a boat trip to watch the dolphins and manatees frolic in the warm Gulf waters, as fisherman cruise by on their traditional wooden dhows. Or get in the water, and try your hand diving for one of Bahrain's famous ocean pearls.
Local Flavours
Nearly every craving can be satisfied here, thanks to Bahrain's tremendous cultural diversity. However, if you're looking for a local delicacy be sure to sample some Mediterranean specialties such as tabbouleh, hummus, stuffed grape vine leaves, or the very locally-fished hammour fish. (Also known as Grouper.)
