What you'll need to look out for before you head out to sea.

PORTS OF CALL - Panama Canal

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

Columbus discovered this land on his fourth voyage to the Americas and was so impressed that he named it Costa Rica, or the rich coast. Puerto Limón is overflowing with natural wonders - towering mountains once thought to house gold and silver, magnificent rain forests containing more than 2,000 varieties of orchids, and of course, seductive, sun-drenched beaches.

Don't Miss

Glide across the canopy of the rain forest in a tram at the Braulio Carrillo National Park. It's a beautiful way to see the fragile ecosystem of the rain forest up close.

Fun Things To Do

- Head to the mountains on an off-road adventure in an all-terrain vehicle - TERRA-X6. Your adventure includes a visit to the small village of Bananito, an amazing drive through the forest, past cattle ranches and banana plantations and incredible ocean views.

- Absorb the tranquility of the Tortuguero canals as you float dreamily up to the north of Limón. Take in the fragrance of white ginger blossoms, lavender water hyacinths and the ilan ilan flower.

Sporting Adventures

Go white-water rafting or off-roading on an exciting rain forest adventure.

Local Flavours

Costa Rican coffee is known throughout the world for its rich, delicious flavor. You won't want to leave without trying some.

Currency

The official currency in Costa Rica is the colón (CRC). U.S. dollars, traveler's checks and credit cards are widely accepted.
