Hong Kong, January 5, 2011 – The world’s largest and most revolutionary cruise ship Oasis of the Seas has clinched the ‘Most Popular Cruise’ title of Hong Kong’s Weekend Weekly magazine’s 10th Best Travel Agency Awards, for its 7-Night Eastern/Western Caribbean Cruise.  This prestigious award underscores the winning attraction of Royal Caribbean International’s groundbreaking ship of unrivalled cruise experience amongst Hong Kong vacationers, as well as the growing fame of the global cruise brand in Hong Kong.

Weekend Weekly is one of Hong Kong’s leading and best-selling travel, dining and leisure magazines and this award was voted by 85,000 readers.  The award ceremony was held today at Times Square, Causeway Bay.

Since her launch in December 2009, the 16-deck, 5,400-passenger Oasis of the Seas has captured the imagination and attention of Hong Kong guests being the world’s newest, largest and most revolutionary cruise ship.  One of her widest appeal lies in her unique neighborhood concept of seven distinct themed areas designed for guests’ different preferences and moods, including Central Park, Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, Pool & Sports Zone and Entertainment Place which can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Within these seven neighborhoods are extraordinary elements that redefined the cruising experience such as the first living park at sea, a 9-deck high Zip Line, an original handcrafted carousel, the Rising Tide Bar that moves between three decks and indoors to outdoors, a dazzling ocean front theater with aquatic acrobatic performances and multilevel urban-style loft suites boasting floor-to-ceiling windows.  The ship sails weekly from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Nassau, Bahamas for the Eastern Caribbean itinerary, and to Labadee, Haiti; Costa Maya, Mexico; and Cozumel, Mexico for the Western Caribbean itinerary.

Joseph Lam, Royal Caribbean International Representative for Hong Kong who received the award at the ceremony said, “This award is a great achievement for Oasis of the Seas and a significant boost to the Royal Caribbean brand in the market. We thank all our supporters for voting for and appreciating our product and our travel agents for nominating and promoting it.  The collection of incredible experiences on Oasis of the Seas has succeeded in making many Hong Kong vacationers see a cruise ship as a true destination on its own.  We hope to bring the ‘WOW’ to many more here with this ship and her new sister ship Allure of the Seas which is also as large and as revolutionary, and in this way, Royal Caribbean’s innovative and exciting amenities, activities and entertainment.”

Oasis of the Seas has won to date over 15 awards and accolades worldwide including Travel Weekly Reader’s Choice Award for ‘Best Cruise Ship Overall’, Travel Age West WAVE Awards – Readers’ Choice for ‘Best New Ship’ and Daily Cruise News – Helmsman’s Award for ‘Best Large Cruise Line Ship’.
